About “yomosugara”

‘Yomosugara’ is an ancient Japanese word used in the Manyoshu (Japan’s oldest poetry collection), meaning ‘throughout the night’ or ‘all night long.’ The name reflects the richness of time in which people in the past would spend the night contemplating landscapes and thoughts.

Inspired by traditional Japanese scenery and the cultural reverence for nature, “yomosugara” embodies a lighting concept that harmonizes with the natural world—like the soft glow of twilight at dusk or moonlight shimmering on a river. Designed to harmonize with the natural world, these lights create a gentle, soothing atmosphere, evoking the essence of Japan.
Beyond traditional Japanese spaces, “yomosugara” is designed for versatility, appealing to architects, designers, and enthusiasts of Japanese culture worldwide. With its roots in Japan, the brand is poised to make a strong impact on the global outdoor lighting market.

Shobu
Inspired by the dignified elegance of the iris flower, ‘Shobu’ is an indirect lighting fixture with a slender, sharp form that emits a soft, graceful glow. It is available in two configurations: a dual-light model, ideal for illuminating pathways, and a three-light model, designed to add depth to spaces.

Suiren
‘Suiren’ captures the serene beauty of water lilies floating on still waters. Its clear, layered design evokes the purity and tranquility of water. The collection includes three luminaires of varying heights and sizes, allowing for natural and fluid spatial arrangements.

Kodama
Named after the spirits believed to inhabit trees, ‘Kodama’ features an organic form encased in a translucent shell, emitting a light that harmonizes with nature. The pathway lights include two adjustable luminaires, which can be arranged in sequence to create a dynamic, undulating effect. Meanwhile, the floor lamp, with its soft yet expansive glow, brings a calming presence to any space.
